Google finally makes available all its data that has been drawn collaboratively by people across globe (mainly from the countries that didn’t have digital maps or not upto the mark) using Map Maker in GoogleMaps API. Now you can use this data to do wonders for your web applications and it supports routing as well. Even though it totally depends on the kind of map a city has but for a guy like me these directions are more than enough.
It appears that this is how Google intends Maps to be, collaborative and thats why Map Maker is now available to 160 Countries as compared to when it was started (with 10).
Route From LUMS to FAST
Note: When it was initially launched we didn’t have maps accessible to common people in Lahore,Pakistan but now there are some solutions. I spotted this sometime ago but this entry is coming out late so ignore if you already know about it or comment if you have done anything exciting using it.
