Srilankan Cricket Team Attack: some answers Questioned
Posted by: yaser In: Undesireable Sound
3rd March 2009 marks another tragic incident in the history of Pakistan. Death of a sportsman in such incidents is the last nail in the coffin of reputation of any country as sportsman are generally considered neutral and a kind of ambassador no one would hit. Details aside (as you already know about it), one thing is for sure that the policemen who died in this incident deserve a tribute. These men saved the honor (left over) of the country by giving their lives.
Srilankan team had done us a big favor by visiting the country who was deprived of cricket for more than a year now. Their is no doubt that this incident has completely ruined Pakistan reputation of a livable place. As I said before (after Marriot blast) this is one of the efforts to portray Pakistan as a place even worst than Afghanistan where one can’t even walk on the roads (if you do you would risk a limb or your life by suicide attacks or gun fights). Police is on its toes to get hold of people responsible for this incident. Even though the saga looks more like the Mumbai attacks I wont bother going into any conspiracy theory (My mind is right now cooking hundreds of em), there are few questions that are bothering me since this incident happened. Srilankan team’s security was high priority, they were given 2 elite force mobiles and a lot of police assistance with alternate routes etc (I am not questioning the fool proof security system) then whats the explanation and answer of these questions,
- 30 Minutes Crossfire A: As per police and investigators there was a 30 minute cross-fire between terrorists and elite force. As per my knowledge elite force is a highly trained force (the best in the country) equipped to deal with such situations then how come they didn’t kill any of the terrorists? My guess is its made up and even though they gave resistance they were taken by surprize from all directions.
- 30 Minutes Crossfire B: The area is very near Qaddafi Stadium if it happened for 30 minutes why no backup arrived where there would be a lot of security force available in stadium as well as around that area.
- Mishandling of evidence: Why investigators were mishandling the weapons which would result in removal of finger prints (could be a useful evidence if this comes out to be cross border terrorism).
- [Most Important] Bullet Proof: A team which gives you a favor of coming to your country when no one wants to. They are provided with fool proof security, elite force, alternate routes yet NO BULLET PROOF Bus.
