Downloading videos from sites like YouTube on Windows Mobile devices
Posted by: yaser In: Technical Reviews
I have been trying to play flv videos from sites like YouTube on my K-Jam for quite sometime now. Previously ytPocket was a better option. Later on vTap came out to be better as ytPocket started to redirect you to YouTube mobile for all the videos and YouTube also has a very big list of videos converted for mobiles. Secondly vTap has a big list of other sites like Rotten Tomatoes, Blip, Break, Veoh, Mega Video, Gamer Trailers and above all TED (yes this one is my favorite).
However m.vTap.com again falls short in a department which has been highlighted in my previous entries. “High Quality videos”. vTap does give an option to play high quality videos but somehow it has unpredictable behavior on my WM6.1 K-Jam. I love to watch high quality videos on my mobile and sometimes prefer to download them as well. W.V.D Web Video Downloader is a software that gives you comprehensive solution.
It supports searching and listing videos (latest, most viewed etc.) on the basis of categories and also supports a lot of websites like YouTube, Google Videos, Justin.tv, Metacafe and few others (to bad it doesn’t support TED
). However its amazing because I can download videos and watch them (with Core Player) using the Wifi connection at home (saw all episodes of Sunehray Din all night long
). Following are screenshots of W.V.D in action. W.V.D can be downloaded from here and the best part is that its free (so please donate)
