A lot of these kids who are not of driving age are making this stupid mistake by driving cars and bikes. Their parents are being even more stupid by allowing them to do so. Often they have been found regretting when its too late ( Lahore has witnessed many under age driving accidents). I think its a big problem as it eventually results in immature behavior and least possible driving sense. Following steps should be taken to improve the situation.
- Without license driving should result in immediate fine (the rule is already there just a strict implementation by traffic police).
- Under-age driving should be completely banned (extra fine should be charged if the driver is under-age). This can be verified by asking for NIC. However later cancellation mechanism should be provided if the driver was unable to reproduce it on spot but came up with one later on.
- Proper education program in partnership with schools should be initiated.
- Some mechanism to educate parent should be devised as well.
- Parent should keep a check what their kids are up to and should not let them drive at any cost if they are below 18.
