Few days back I got a call from ZONG Customer Care center (Hidden number). The gentleman told me that due to too many bookings there is a little delay in delivery of SIM (Ref: Zong does it again) to my “doorstep”. The SIM will be delivered to me by the end of May :O. I listened to him patiently but was not completely satisfied with the given reason. However decided not to argue with him because its useless.
Its been already a month since this service was launched and I guess there are some serious problems on there side.
- ChinaTel management failed to foresee the number of SIMs which will be sold through this services.
- Logistics were not planned properly to arrange Sim delivery (They should have done some partnership).
- I was among the first 20 Thousand buyers and if there is this much delay then what will happen to those who are on the other side of the list
- They removed the home delivery option from there website due to these problems.
Its a common situation faced by most of the Telcos. There marketing departments provide them with a niche and they end up messing it up due to urgency of utilizing . So far ChinaTel has done the same. As i said previously if they deliver on this platform they will have a batch of very loyal and impressed customers but if they fail they are going to piss a lot of people off.
Right now I am thinking, “Hey! am I on some kind of a list for buying a Ferrari“?
