Zong Does it again (Buy any number online)
Posted by: yaser In: Marketing & Advertisement| Telecommunication
After launching there official website and announcing there first few packages they have finally stepped into the market. While I was going through there website what really hit me was something very different and Viral (word of mouth advertisement) they have kicked off with. You can buy any number and I mean any number through there website ( click ).
Buy numbers like 0313-420-9211 or 0312-9999999
I still remember when Ufone offered free Sims on 14th August there were long queues to buy sims but this really is something really cool and effortless for customers. Zong’s first step in the market is cool but let see if they live up to the expectations. One thing is for sure, if they really pull this one off and deliver Sims at door steps then this is a sure thing that they will win the first round.
- Rs 150 Rs is the cost of the sim if you pick it up from there office.
- Rs 200 is the Cost if you want it to be delivered to there doorstep(thats for Lahore don’t know about other cities).
They haven’t really advertised it anywhere (I think) but already 21 thousand numbers have been sold online(in 1 or 2 days). When I first checked the number was around 17 thousand and in 3 hours it has climbed to 21K. One thing is really to be decided if these are post paid or pre paid numbers(i have no clue and its not mentioned on there website). Most of the connections issued in this way would be legitimate. However there is no check on Sim being issued on a single ID card number (I bought 2, may be there is a check on higher number). This can also result as a problem if few people buy a lot of golden numbers and save them for future selling. Besides this is a tactic often used by franchises to earn extra cash so i wonder what franchise owners have to say about this.
As far as there packages are concerned I kind of liked there Free Package which has
- Night free to one number (limited time offer).
- Rs. 3.99 Per hour 12pm to 7am ( Ladies First and Telenor killer)
- Break time Rs. 3.99 per hour
- f n f rate Rs. 1
- GPRS 10 Rs/MB
- Sms to any number @ Rs. 0.20 (trying to cope up with Djuice)
Lets see how they are in terms of service (waiting for my sim before i comment on that )
PS: Our beloved Sharjeel Qureshi got a number which everyone dreams off
