Imate kJam and Blackberry7290 (in context with Mobilink’s Package)

In my opinion not every scheme in the market is a Super Offer for consumers and there are fair amount of people who tumble on marketing stunts. Its just a matter of good marketing besides i think in past few of other services mobilink has offered were also not so extraordinary when it comes to the actual thing. I take mobilink’s venture with Yahoo for Yahoo Messenger from Mobile as an example. However sticking to the topic lets just see what Mobilink’s new BlackBerry package has to offer to the Customers. Here is a feature comparison between Imate Kjam and BB7290.

Now these are few of the basic functionalities and already we can see the difference… From here starts a long list of Things an imate can do and a blackberry 7290 (offered by Mobilink) cannot. I could have compared Jam with Blacbery as well and i think still a Jam would have stood out despite no keyboard included in the product.
The Catch
The Key feature Blackberry targets is Business on the Go. which mainly includes features like push mail. However microsoft have announced that the new versions of Outlook will have this feature as well (However I am not sure about mobile version). Secondly Imate has already offered Push Mail service for its Customers. So whats the big deal about it?
Using Mobilinks unlimited GPRS (@ Rs. 500/month ) one can set his/her mobile to pull mails after regular intervals. In the same scenario may be a cell even cheaper than 7290 could do the same thing. However one should realize that the connectivity sessions might drain Batteries.
